Summer is here, take care of your health.!
World Health organization says that global
temperatures and the frequency and intensity of heat waves will rise in the
21st century as a result of climate change. Extended periods of high day and
nighttime temperatures would affect physiological stress on the human body.
Heatwaves can acutely impact large populations for short periods of time, often
trigger public health emergencies and result in excess mortality. They can also
cause loss of health service delivery capacity, where power-shortages which
often accompany heatwaves disrupt health facilities, transport, and water
infrastructure.

In India, as March started, heat of summer is
increasing all over the state. Heat stroke also affects the body. Favorable
days of winter transforms to two to three months of intolerable days of summer.
It should not be ignored that this summer heat causes many bad impact on our
health. Impact of summer is referred as heat stroke. Every year heat stroke
causes many deaths. Diseases associated with heat, rises with a rise in the
temperature of the summer season. Naturally those people are prone for “pitta”
(types of nature described in Ayurveda) are more susceptible to heat related
diseases, such diseases increases with the increase in heat in this season.
Summer heat causes various symptoms such as: burning of the body, burning in
stomach, feeling thirsty, perspiration, dizziness, weakness, pain in calf, and
many more.
Summer heat may cause diseases ranging from simple
fever to measles and many other skin diseases. All this can be prevented by
maintaining proper diet planning; even proper planning of clothing and their
colors would also help to minimize the impact of summer heat. Seasonal fruits
of summer such as mangoes, tadgole, cashew nuts, karavand etc. gave a feeling
of completeness in the diet. These can be taken in a proper manner; mainly
water is the only main diet factor in summer season. Many people keep water
with them, which helps in prevention of dehydration, also helps in cooling of
the overall body. Water also helps in prevention of renal diseases by
detoxification and also prevents many other diseases indicating the increasing
importance of water in the summer season.
Processed cool water with sandal wood, Vala (type of
tree which helps in purification of water) and Kapar helps in complete cure of
burning all over the body. Coconut water and water in served or kept in copper
pot and in silver pot help in prevention of frequent thirsty feeling. Water processed with dhaniya and cumin seeds
help in releasing symptoms such as burning micturition. Water kept in soil pot
such as mataka has naturally many good properties. Water from copper pot helps
in prevention of cough (Ayurveda types of diseases). Vegetables of food made
from kelphul and padval are good for health in this season. Tondali, pumpkin if
made in a proper way can helps in minimizing buring sensation in the body. Methis should not be used as it increases
heat in the body. In a similar way, other vegetables such as eggplant, karela etc
should also be avoided in these days; instead kohala (types of vegetable) can
be taken to prevent the heat stroke in summer. Soup of kohala, paratha of
kohala, kohala pak and petha are few of food can be used in these days.
Cucumber with cumin seed can be useful for prevention of dehydration. Avoid
taking water after having cucumber. If you feel thirsty because of heat, then
jowar, rice and khichadi may help, but if you have itching then you have to
avoid eating Nachani instead you can have rice, pop-corn sattu etc. if you have
pitta then you should avoid nachani. Amla is very useful in the heat and
feeling of thirst. Banana, grapes, Pomegranate, kavat, karvand etc also helps
in all summer. Coconut water may useful in the prevention of dehydration. Those
are suffering from a cough can take coconut water with adrak. Elayachi and
jayphal also helpful in thirst.
If body heat increases, then milk, ghee, butter can be
useful. In dizziness and weakness, milk of cow and butter can help a lot for
prevention of symptoms and weakness. Buttermilk made by adding a pinch of cumin
seeds, dhaniya will help in all types of renal and urine related disorders. If
you have burning all over the body and dizziness then avoid warm water that
will accelerate the intensity of the symptoms. Mug, Masoor and green pea help
in all types of summer disorders. Children, pregnant women, women, elderly all
should eat laddus of green Mung. These laddus helps in saving skin, increasing
energy, and also helps in increasing appetite. Haldi and adarak may also help in thirst. In
severe burning rock candy with Kheer is useful. Rock candy is given more
important than normal sugar in market. It is better to avoid Cold beverages, soft
drinks, drinks on the road and even roadside ice-gola in these days as these
are made by artificial methods and may impact adversely on the human body. Deforestation,
lack of water resources causes global warming, which directly result in the increasing
intensity of summer in terms of heat. Increasing intensity of summer result in
heat waves which affect adversely majorly on human and animals as well. To
prevent these global warming and associated situation is a major challenge
before us and well planned lifestyle, well planned development would help in
prevention of such disastrous future situation. Hence, everybody should undertake
