"MahaAyudaan" launched for HOTA (Human Organs Transplant Act)
MahaAyudaan - Blockchain umbrella framework
National Health Mission and Directorate of Health Services under Public Health Department, Government of Maharashtra has inaugurated Blockchain based platform “MahaAyudaan” by the hands of Honourable Commissioner Health Services and Mission Director NHM, Dr. Anup Kumar Yadav at Arogya Bhavan on 12th July 2019. MahaAyudaan is a Blockchain umbrella framework, intended as a foundation for management of activities, networking and monitoring of registry under HOTA (Human Organs Transplant Act) section.
With this implementation, Maharashtra has now become only the first State in India to move concretely towards making its services online fully based on Blockchain technology for public health domain.
Early in April 2019, Department of Public Health and National Health Mission, Maharashtra had signed MOU with IIT Bombay incubated Tech Start-up company Chainworks Digital LLP for this application development and implementation.
At the event Dr. Anup Kumar Yadav, congratulated the entire team from NHM IT, HOTA Section and Chainworks Digital for the successful implementation and go-live. At this event, Additional Mission Director Dr Satish Pawar, Joint Director - Technical Dr. Vijay Kandewad, Assistant Director - HOTA Section Dr. Arun Yadav, Assistant Director Dr P M Padvi, IT Head NHM Mr. Prashant Bhagat, Sr. Consultant IT Mr. Vijayraj Bhosale, Director ROTTO Dr. Astrid Lobo Gajiwala, Manager Maharashtra State Innovation Society Mr. Sijo Varghese, Chainworks Digital team and representatives of 25 private and government hospitals of Mumbai were present. After the inauguration, demonstration and training of application was provided to the hospital representatives. Soon, it will be implemented for all the hospitals across Maharashtra which are associated with HOTA section and are involved in Organ Transplantation. This platform is developed in such way that it can be further extended for Eye Bank and Blood Bank Management. This application will be very useful for department as it is developed on Blockchain Technology, which is considered as very difficult to hack and more secure.
